Set Apart!!!

Set Apart!!!

She was different and she knew it!

Called to be set apart.

Agonized as she futilely attempted to assimilate.

Conformity antiquated but common…Distinction uncomfortable yet alluring.

Fitting in, concealing her perspicuous characteristics, masking her shine, definitely not what HE ordained.

HE didn’t create her to be like anyone else!

Over the course of time, GOD intentionally allowed specific issues to surface in her life.

Her whole heart HE desired.

HE challenged her.

Still, she pursued HIM!

Refining her…Pruning her…Infusing her with the confidence to stand boldly in who HE says she is.

Chaos in euphoria!

Grappling with a barrage of obstacles seemingly, naturally insurmountable.

Exasperated, she questioned the extent of HIS testing!

“How much longer, JESUS?”

The HOLY SPIRIT convicted her…causing her significant discomfort…birthing in her humility…rendering her…

Set apart!

“Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the LORD…and, I will be a FATHER to you, and you will be MY sons and daughters, says the LORD ALMIGHTY.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭6:17-18 ‭NIV‬‬

“I praise YOU because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; YOUR works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from YOU when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. YOUR Eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in YOUR Book before one of them came to be.” Psalm‬ ‭139:14-16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Vampire!!!!!

Welcome to my first entry…my initial foray into sharing with you the gift given me by GOD! Please note that my offering is written in 3rd person…and most often will be rendered in this way!

I’m a storyteller… Enjoy the experience! GOD Bless You!

The Vampire!!!!!

The nightly ritual with her two rapidly growing babies was sweet and routine…. Powerful devotion, potty break, profound prayer, and finally…praise GOD for bedtime!

As she retired to her bedroom, she breathed a lengthy sigh of relief, as the eventful day drew to a welcomed close with the two precocious kings she’s privileged to Mother now snugly in their respective beds!

As she slipped into her comfy pajamas, she relished the prevailing sound of peace…no voices competing for her attention, no disagreements to referee, no stern warnings to levy…

Just peace!

And then a sudden trespass…an abrupt awakening from the state of serenity she relished…

She sat upright in bed straining to discern faint and disturbing murmurs flitting toward her bedroom.

And then a frantic scream, “Mommy!!!!!”

She trotted swiftly to her younger son’s room intent to address his urgent call.

“What is it, baby?”, she offered calmly. Steadying her breathing, she settled close to her apprehensive son waiting patiently for his explanation.

His voice quaking, he timidly exclaimed, “Mommy, I see a vampire when I close my eyes and it scares me!”

She tried employing every angle of reason to console his heart, to quell his fears. After mere moments of discussion concerning the fact that vampires aren’t real, unexpectedly, he launched his body into her available arms!

Nestling his weary head on her shoulder, he was comforted!

She held him firmly, his arms wrapped tightly around her neck…he had no immediate plans to release his hold.

Safe in her arms, the vampire vanished…for her love conquered his fears!

Almost instantly, while she cherished the warm embrace of her son, a pressing thought emerged…

“Who slays the vampire for me?”, she pondered wistfully.

And promptly, with absolutely no hesitation, she heard GOD lovingly whisper, “I do!”

HE invaded her thoughts, apprehended the question, arrested doubt, and bestowed upon her promise…

“I do!”

Those two words signifying the impermeable covenant between her and GOD. HIS Power, HIS Love, HIS Protection ever present and always poised to extinguish her fears, to stifle the vampire…

She was assured that any vampire would be vanquished in the Radiant Glow of HIS Love, for any fear she faced, HE commanded to flee.

Rejoicing and overflowing with adoration for her VAMPIRE SLAYER, she positioned her soothed and drowsy son softly on his pillow, as “I do” gently resonated melodically in her heart!

And with that, she glided to her bedroom as peace reappeared and flooded her soul!

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident. One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in HIS temple.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:1-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
